Jarvis P. Prewitt - Board Chairman

Jarvis P. Prewitt is a proud Birmingham native and graduate of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. As salutatorian of the Huffman High School Class of 2019, Jarvis has always believed in using his talents to uplift others.


Today, as an Engineer at Georgia Power Company, he works to help power a brighter future while staying true to his values of service and leadership. Beyond his career, Jarvis is deeply committed to giving back to the Huffman community, supporting students and fellow 2019 alumni through mentorship, scholarships, and service as a founding board member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019.


Guided by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” Jarvis continues to stand for what matters — people, purpose, and progress.

Takeera Hawkins

Takeera is a proud 2019 graduate of Huffman High School and a dedicated educator in her third year of teaching in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Middle School Mathematics.


As a founding member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019, Takeera is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, collaborate, and give back. She brings a wealth of leadership experience and a deep commitment to education to her role on the board, focusing on initiatives that promote youth empowerment, academic excellence, and community advancement.


Takeera believes in the power of representation, service, and legacy-building. Her goal on the board is to help ensure the Class of 2019 remains a positive, visible force in the community—uplifting future generations through mentorship, outreach, and unity.

Zahra Johnson

Zahra E. Johnson is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with concentrations in legal affairs and psychology. A native of Birmingham and 2019 graduate of Huffman High School! Go Viks! Zahra is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and youth who are currently in the foster care system through her role as a social services specialist.  By investing in the lives of disadvantaged youth, she is able to give back through community outreach while also collaborating with children and families to ensure the safety and wellbeing for all children in the foster care system. 


As a founding board member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019, her mission is to ensure the Association makes a lasting impact on the surrounding community through service, leadership, and educational opportunities. She is dedicated to uplifting rising leaders by equipping them with the tools and support they need to build a successful future.

Brian J. Thomas

 

Brian J. Thomas is a proud Alabama native and graduate of UAB, where he pursued his passion for Information Systems, concentrated in Cyber Security Management. A member of the Huffman High School Class of 2019, Brian has always combined technical skill with a passion for organization, leadership, and community.


Today, as an IT Manager, he leads infrastructure, cloud, and device management operations to drive efficiency and reliability across enterprise systems. Outside of work, Brian is committed to giving back to the Huffman community — mentoring students, supporting alumni initiatives, and serving as a founding board member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019.

Cameron Humes - Social Media & Scholarship Coordinator

Cameron Humes proudly serves as the Social Media Coordinator and Scholarship Coordinator for the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019. In his role, he is committed to fostering meaningful connections within the alumni community and highlighting the achievements of both graduates and future graduates.


As Scholarship Coordinator, Cameron is dedicated to supporting current students by facilitating opportunities that help them achieve their academic and career goals. He considers it a privilege to give back to the institution that laid the foundation for his own success.

Kalvin Bowe - Event Coordinator

Kalvin is a passionate and detail-oriented Event Coordinator with a track record of creating memorable experiences for a variety of occasions, including weddings, banquets, birthday celebrations, and more. He currently serves as the Event Coordinator for the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019, where he plans and manages reunions, mixers, and special events that strengthen the alumni community.


From small, intimate gatherings to large-scale productions, Kalvin brings creativity, organization, and a calm, solution-focused mindset to every event. He is dedicated to making the planning process smooth and stress-free—so guests can focus on enjoying the moment while he handles the details.

Antonio Woody - Community & Outreach Coordinator

From humble beginnings in Alabama, Antonio has grown into a dynamic leader and dedicated public servant. A proud graduate of Huffman High School, Class of 2019, he now serves as the Community & Outreach Coordinator for the Huffman Alumni Association, where he is passionate about fostering connection, school pride, and meaningful engagement among alumni.


Antonio is the CEO of Luxurious Corporation, and a Deputy with the Jefferson County Constable Office. Known for his drive, professionalism, and commitment to growth, he embraces each day as an opportunity for positive impact and continuous self-improvement.

Eryka Huckabee - Program Coordinator

As Program Coordinator of the Huffman Alumni Association Class of 2019, Eryka is focused on strengthening connections among classmates and building a network that supports personal, professional, and community growth. She plans to organize meaningful events, volunteer opportunities, and mentorship programs that keep the class engaged and connected to Huffman’s legacy.


Eryka is committed to creating initiatives that give back to current students at Huffman High School—whether through scholarships, career panels, or guidance programs—while also providing spaces for alumni to support one another in their journeys beyond graduation. Her goal is to ensure that being part of the Class of 2019 remains a source of pride, purpose, and lifelong community.
