Jarvis P. Prewitt is a proud Birmingham native and graduate of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. As salutatorian of the Huffman High School Class of 2019, Jarvis has always believed in using his talents to uplift others.
Today, as an Engineer at Georgia Power Company, he works to help power a brighter future while staying true to his values of service and leadership. Beyond his career, Jarvis is deeply committed to giving back to the Huffman community, supporting students and fellow 2019 alumni through mentorship, scholarships, and service as a dedicated board member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019.
Guided by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” Jarvis continues to stand for what matters — people, purpose, and progress.
Takeera Hawkins is a proud 2019 graduate of Huffman High School and a passionate educator in her third year at Adamsville Elementary in Birmingham, Alabama. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from UAB and is currently pursuing her master’s in Middle School Mathematics.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Takeera is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, collaborate, and give back. She brings her leadership experience and dedication to education into her board role, focusing on initiatives that support youth empowerment, academic achievement, and community growth.
Takeera believes in the power of representation, service, and legacy-building. Her goal on the board is to help ensure the Class of 2019 remains a positive, visible force in the community—uplifting future generations through mentorship, outreach, and unity.
Zahra E. Johnson is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with concentrations in legal affairs and psychology. A native of Birmingham and 2019 graduate of Huffman High School! Go Viks! Zahra is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and youth who are currently in the foster care system through her role as a social services specialist. By investing in the lives of disadvantaged youth, she is able to give back through community outreach while also collaborating with children and families to ensure the safety and wellbeing for all children in the foster care system.
Brian J. Thomas is a proud Alabama native and graduate of UAB, where he pursued his passion for Information Systems, concentrated in Cyber Security Management. A member of the Huffman High School Class of 2019, Brian has always combined technical skill with a passion for organization, leadership, and community.
Today, as an IT Manager, he leads infrastructure, cloud, and device management operations to drive efficiency and reliability across enterprise systems. Outside of work, Brian is committed to giving back to the Huffman community — mentoring students, supporting alumni initiatives, and serving as a founding board member of the Huffman Alumni Association, Class of 2019.
From a humble background in Alabama, Woody has risen to become the CEO of Luxurious Corporation, a Deputy at the Jefferson County Constable Office, and the owner of a thriving hair, nails, and spa. A Huffman High School graduate, he embraces daily challenges and continuous self-improvement.
